"Clapton is a welcoming place. You make great friends and memories.”
We will be reopening with staggered return dates for each year group from Monday 8 March. By Wednesday 17 March all students will be back in school full time. All school days will then be at the usual times with all students expected to arrive by 8.40am at the latest.
Preparing for re-opening
Please ensure you have read the letter emailed to all parents on Tuesday 2 March which includes updates on Covid testing and students’ return to school. Click above for letter and here for a presentation with more detailed information about plans for reopening.
We will only test students for whom we have consent in advance of testing. If consent has not been provided please do not send your child into school on their test date.
If your child has Covid symptoms, is unwell or has tested positive for Covid in the last 90 days do not send them in for testing.
There will no live lessons next week (w/b 8th March) to allow time for staff to support Covid testing. Students can find all work for any remaining time that they are at home on Satchel:one.
Please ensure that your child has their uniform, equipment, books and facemasks ready for their return to school.
Appointments for Covid testing
Please make sure your child knows when to come in to school. Covid testing is taking place in the Sports Hall and students need to arrive via the Year 7 gates on Almack Rd. Students do not need to wear uniform for testing appointments but must wear trainers to protect the floor in the Sports Hall.
Test 2 will take place once students are back on site.
Following the initial two tests and the Covid test training session at school on Wednesday 17 March, all students will be issued with home tests and should complete two per week for the foreseeable future. A student-friendly video relating to how to self-swab can be found here.
To ensure that you receive up to date information, it is critical that all parents download the MyEd app. More information is available here
When students return to site, they will be expected to wear face masks in lessons as well as in corridors and other indoor areas. Please ensure that your child has at least two face masks ready for their return to school. If your child is exempt, please ensure that you have emailed firstname.lastname@example.org with medical evidence of their exemption by Friday 5 March.
Communication with parents
Due to the cost of text messages we have stopped sending these to parents and are only sending regular updates using MyEd. For this reason we must ask and insist that all families now download the MyEd app. If you need any support with doing this, please email email@example.com and we will be able to help you. More information is available here.
