"Clapton is a welcoming place. You make great friends and memories.”
- Student, 2014

UPDATE 3 APRIL:
Parents have been emailed the following letters today, please make sure you have received and read these:

New Government Free School Meal voucher scheme
The Government has launched a national scheme for issuing digital food vouchers to all eligible families. This system will be run by a company called Edenred. Parents will be emailed a £30 digital food voucher for each eligible child in Years 7-13 every two weeks. The first voucher is due to be issued on Monday 6 April. Please regularly check for texts/MyEd messages to ensure that you stay informed about this.
The vouchers will be emailed to you. You will need to follow the instructions in the email. The digital vouchers can be used to shop in:
The full value of the voucher will need to be spent in one shopping trip.
For more information on the voucher scheme, please click for the FAQ sheet.
If your daughter is eligible for Free School Meals and you have not received our texts or emails, please urgently call us on 020 8985 6641 (10am-2pm) or email CGA@clapton.hackney.sch.uk If we do not have the correct contact details for you, you will not receive your child’s vouchers.
If your working arrangements have recently changed and you think your child may now be eligible for free school meals, please complete the online form from Hackney Learning Trust: https://www.learningtrust.co.uk/content/apply-free-school-meals.
Key Worker Provision
We are reviewing the need to reopen our key worker provision after the Easter break. If you are aware you meet the requirements of key worker provision and have no alternative childcare available, please call or email on the details give above.
For more information on Government guidance on key worker provision eligibility click here.
Communications with parents during closure
If you have a query or need to get a message to a member of staff, please email CGA@clapton.hackney.sch.uk or call 020 8985 6641 (10am-2pm). This website homepage will be updated regularly with any important news for parents. We will continue using MyEd messages and emails to update parents.
Communication with students during academy closure
Since school closure, all home learning is being set on Show My Homework (SMHW). We are also using SMHW to share Student Notices every morning. Checking these notices every morning is a really good way to help students structure their day and maintain their connection with normal academy systems. These notices include a range of activities, learning reminders and important messages and updates. Please ensure that, where possible, all students are checking SMHW every day using a phone, tablet, laptop or computer.
If students would like to access additional learning resources and activities, these can be found on the Home Learning page of this website. Go to the Menu tab and click on Home Learning tab.
If you do not have access to the internet and would like paper copies of learning resources, please call or email us on the details given above.
Today our students made history! They received the highest GCSE results in the school's history.
We are in the top 10% of sixth forms nationally for a third year running! We are celebrating amazing A-level and BTEC results, seeing the percentage of students getting grade As go up 3% to an excellent 28%, bucking this year’s national downward trend for grade As.
Six Hackney girls swim the English Channel, raising £6,500 for charity.
